This one I did for myself! I was browsing comic art..trying to learn coloring.... and I noticed a trend. Poor SuperGirl was constantly getting her butt handed to her by PowerGirl! I got to thinking, what would happen when Supergirl blossomed into a woman? Whalla...the rematch! I put the scratches in because us girls know there aint no fair in fight! Have a "Super" weekend!

Thanks to Deberzer and his sic coloring skills and Tanyk with his breath-taking line work they inspired this!

Absolutely fantastic. Powergirl would smash Supergirl though.

Yes ,but what about SuperWoman??? Lol. Prophet, I know next to nothing about these characters do you know a good link, source I could reference? I would really appreciate the help. ; ) I think I made them too muscle-eee(my own word).Old habits die hard.
ooops,Thankyou for the kind input too!
Eh, to be honest I'm not exactly a HUUUGE comicbook reader either - I've just absorbed information over the years by osmosis... The comment itself is born of the fact Powergirl is older and more experienced and as their powerlevels are probably comparable - that would give Powergirl the edge... and wiki, it knows everything... Also, not too muscle-eee.

I didn't even think of that! Ugh! Wiki.Thankyou. About the ages though, this picture is supposed to be in the future when Supergirl is around 25 (thus SuperWoman)making Powergirl like 32 I guess. Now they can hash it out on a even footing. My money is on Supergirl ,while PowerGirl is known for her hands my hubby says Super took a liking to the UFC and her ground game is insane...lol. Thanks for the input on the muscle-eee-ness also.
Hey there again. ;)
Hah, I totally see how this was inspired by me.

First of all: nice picture. :D Although I would have prefered if it was the other way around. :P But don't ask me why. You know, it looks like Superwoman is staring at Powergirl's tits. Is she jealous or something? :lmao: And lol at the scratches on the butt. :P

Well, what advices can I give...

First of all, what do you use for colouring? Photoshop, too? Are you using layers? it sometimes looks like you coloured over the lineart. I'd suggest putting the lineart on a layer on top of everything and using "multiply" mode on that layer. But that's all descriped in the tutorial I sent you the link to. ;)

Before you start colouring you need to think about where you want the lightsource(s) to be. And then during the rendering you need to keep the light source in mind all the time. On your picture it is not really clear where the light source is meant to be, which is confusing for the viewer's eye. There is shadow sometimes on the bottom of things, sometimes at the top, sometimes on the right side, sometimes on the left. Some highlights suggest the lightsource is above them, some suggest it is below them. I guess you were trying to do reflections on Powergirl's legs. I tend to put those into the shadows. When they are above the shadows, it looks like kind of like those are highlights made by the main light source.
Anyways, keep your main lightsource in mind all the time and put the shadows and highlights accordingly on every part. ;o

One more thing: Did you use the burn tool for shadows? It looks like it on Supergirl for example. The burn/dodge tool is no bad thing, but it is not always the best thing to use... I'd suggest picking your colours yourself and use the brush tool. The shadows on Supergirl's skin looks too blackish. As long as it is not night, I tend to give shadows some saturated colours. No clue if that is a good thing to do, but that's how I do it. :#

Oh and last but one of the most important things: Take you time. Don't forget to take of some parts of the picutre. For example Powergirl's left hand has no highlights or shadows. Take your time, zoom in. Work in detail. The more details, the better it looks. You just need to figure out how much time you are willing to spend and how much you are able to do in that time. :T

Hope I could help.... somehow. O_o
lol wall of text. :#
No problem, as they say - sometimes the best place to hide a letter is on the mantle. Anyway, I think the generally most pertinent thing with these fights is the writer because no one ever crunches numbers to write a story (except me, sometimes). So... it's fairly meaningless to make assessments... although, Powergirl could always just use kryptonite.

Also, feel free to stop by the ol' chatroom sometime.
